Our community fund is a recognition that it's our business' responsibility to give something back; to contribute for the betterment of our community, and the environment.

What we do

We ring-fence 2% of our operating profit each month into our community fund. Those funds are then used to support good causes in our local community. We donate quarterly to our regular causes, and top up with one-off donations to other organisation as we can and/or as particular needs arise.

Who do we support

You can find a list of the organisations we regularly support below:

In the current climate, with rising costs of food and fuel, combined with static income, high unemployment and changes to benefits, there are an increasing number of people in the Carlisle district who are going without food. Carlisle Foodbank continue to offer invaluable support, providing emergency food aid for people in crisis.

Carlisle Eden Mind is one of 125 local Minds across the country, who work to empower, educate and support people with mental health issues. They match their services to meet the needs of the community they serve and campaign to improve the services available to those in need of mental health support, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Eden Valley Hospice provides care for adults with life limiting illnesses from North Cumbria, and Jigsaw provides day to day care, support and activities to children and young people living with a life limiting illness.

Since our fund was launched in late 2019 we've also supported the organisations below on an ad-hoc basis:

Environmental support

In addition to our initiatives in the local community, we also work with the Future Forest Company to support their important reforestation, and biodiversity protection work at sites around the UK.

That includes funding for planting native, broadleaf trees on Future Forest's UK sites to provide carbon capture and create thriving habitats for wildlife.

We also support Future Forest's work on conservation and restoration of biodiversity, including protecting existing woodlands, planting wildflower meadows and regeneration of wetlands.
